2019 was an exciting year for Travelling Basket with the opening of our very own lifestyle store in Edinburgh, the brand flourished in its new home and was able to support more makers and celebrate quality handmade crafts than ever before. It was also an incredibly rewarding year for our team, all makers and practitioners behind the scenes, we were able to share our creativity and passion for hand made products and skills with the launch of our seasonal programme of workshops and events.

This winters number one class (so popular we had to offer additional workshop dates) was our Traditional Beeswax Candle Making workshop covering the principles and techniques of three different ways of candle making using pure summer harvest natural beeswax. Participants on all the classes were able to try their hand at dipping elegant taper candles in pairs, as well as rolling a table candle and creating poured candles in little glass jars.

A lot of joy, creativity and stories were shared throughout the course of the programme, we loved every minute of each class and were inspired by the care, skill, and energy of the participants and look forward very much to hosting more events and workshops in 2020.
